The second segment of our podcast is on the Motorola Razr. This is the new phone made by Motorola.
The Motorola Razr has its roots in the Motorola V3 made in 2004, where it got its flip phone shape from. The V3 at the time was, really just another flip phone. The Droid Razr which was one before the new razr, was not foldable, unlike its previous models and the new one. The new one has a foldable shape while keeping all capabilities of a smartphone, and Motorola also claims it is as durable as an average smartphone which is pretty impressive considering it is foldable. On the official Motorola site for the Razr, we can see that they are focusing on 2 large points, which are needless to say, it’s folding capability, and also, its camera quality which is a common trend currently in the phone industry.
The phone’s new folding ability is, of course, one of the newest ideas in the industry, silently catching popularity along with the enlargement of the average phone size. This technology was cooperated with Lenovo and briefly explained, it is made from multiple small sheets and pieces of metal that when folded, lay over each other, and when unfolded, spreads out. Although Motorola was not the first to release foldable smartphones to the market, (first foldable smartphone was Samsung’s Galaxy Fold) Motorola is definitely in the competition.
